holmes, tension especially. check out the following if you haven't heard already

I couldn't find one by band of horses called "first single" but I'm pretty much in love with them now..  thank you!

I love citizen cope..  one of the few artists who I liked enough to actually buy their albums instead of downloading ;)  I bought all their CDs

Its called "The First Song" tension.  It's on their first album.

For some reason, I can't watch citizen cope music videos.  It bothers me that he only opens his mouth like an inch to sing.

Bonobo - On Your Marks

Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Dhani Harrison, and Prince - While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

This song is absolutely fucking amazing.  Mostly when prince starts playing guitar at about 3:35.  I've watched his solo about 100 times and I still love it.  You can tell petty gets annoyed with the way prince is playing, but holy shit, he can play guitar.  Heres the video for it - http://www.warnerreprise.com/asx/tompetty_ghigentlyweeps_450-v.asx

It should open in winamp or something.

yeah the citizen cope guy (whatever his name is) is great. i was mixing the first song with first single by the format (typically i dont like music like this but i did enjoy that one song from them).

band of horses streams their influence by alot of bands. heard it before but it's really good still. they remind me alot of built to spill.

anyone got any other solo acoustic acts i might like? i like stuff like citizen cope, damien rice, tom petty, jack j, dave matthews, dispatch, frank black, james taylor, etc. etc.

edit-good vid

Here's some random artists labeled acoustic in my itunes -
-Ben Gibbard (lead singer of death cab for cutie and postal service).  The album I have is "Live in Chicago" and he just does acoustic versions of death cab and postal service songs.  It's really good.
- Alexi Murdoch.  Haven't listened to him a lot, but he sounds good.
- City and Colour (Lead singer from Alexisonfire).  Alexisonfire is a post-hardcore band, but city and colour is all acoustic.  The song "Hello, I'm In Delaware" is amazing.
- Cat Stevens.  Self explanatory.
- Josh Rouse
- Jeremy Enigk

my dad got me into cat stevens when I was really young..  one of my favorites.

For solo acoustic stuff, check out Andy McKee..  he is simply amazing, one of the best guitar drifters I have ever seen, and his music is beautiful.  His album "Art of Motion" is a good place to start.

Here's a couple youtube vids of him:

Drum and bass is always nice.  E-Z Rollers are pretty good, if you've heard of them.
