Tribes 20th Anniversary :)
« on: October 30, 2018, 02:53:43 AM »
:welcome: Just wanted to keep you guys in the loop but some base/base LT dudes and even some annihilation players are trying to organize some games during the 20th Anniversary which is scheduled for Friday, November 30th - Sunday, December 2nd.  I am helping spread the word and organizing the event. I know a bunch of you donít really dig base or base LT but right now itís the only decent CTF action around, we might also have some Arena/Team deathmatch going on and if you liked Annihilation, those guys are planning something as well.

Check out this TribalWar thread that has pretty much all the info and links you will need:

If you somehow canít access the thread go here:

Join us on Tribes Talk Discord where most of the action is at anyway:

:stop :attn: I also wanted to ask, does anyone wanna try and organize something as well? I will be willing to pay for a TROC server I just have no idea how to get it up and running I know crow{oz} helped me out with that before so I can check with him. If we get a couple dudes in here saying yes or are willing to help me reach out to more players and vets I will begin PMing and DMing whoever I can find connected with (Elite)Renegades/Ren LT Spawn etc from this website and the facebook group. Iím not as popular or well known in the TROC community as most (I blossomed late into the game) but any help or a point in the right direction would be awesome

So, what do you guys say? one last draft/ladder/tournament? or just a simple set PU night/day? One last hoorah? Last chance to talk shit? Last chance to prove yourself? or perhaps just for a good old nostalgia high?  If one of you guys could setup a TROC discord that would be cool too if not we can just all hop on the Tribes Talk discord and I could setup private channels for us TROC ppl only. Iím an admin there as well as the TribalWar discord and in multiple discords and use various BOTís so let me know if you need assistance with anything. I would have created one for us already if I didnít already have 2 other discord communities that I run.

If you need any help trying to get tribes setup and running or help with net settings (interpolate/predictforwardtime) just look for me on the discord I go by -fr3nzy*

---------------------------------------BONUS INFO---------------------------------------------------------------
Whatís been going on? Tribes PUís in 2018
The Tribalwar base players created a Discord (which if you old geezers donít know is the new All-In-One IRC/skype/AIM/Teamspeak/Vent etc.) and we have been having high level base LT PUGs pretty much daily, we also had some regular old base pugs on a few Sundays before. A lot of old vets are showing up and since the Midair game was a failure we also had a bunch of them come back to T1. Our discord server also has the convenience of BOTs in use, we have it setup so the BOT can alert us in discord when people are in a server and shows whoís in the server, we also have a PU BOT that handles the team setups and this is could all be done without even launching the game which means you wouldnít need to keep launching tribes.exe to see whoís playing whoís online, which servers etc. If you are a base LT n00b refer to Storks Guide found around the links above. We also have really late-night Arena/Team Deathmatch games that go on in the Arghs Duel server, the top Arghs players are still around (izza, snow, rtcll) so we have very high-level players that are active at the moment.  Whoís still pops around? From the community I still bump into Pyro who goes by RSE now, Vertigo, Clown, Two Moons, Killer, Pac, Vodka (although itís been a while) I donít have a computer?Get one, desktop computers are still king, you donít need anything special to play tribes I would just recommend at least a good mouse and mousepad setup with a monitor if you only have a laptop. If you are looking to get the most out of gaming in tribes 2018 I recommend building a cheap budget gaming computer with a 120hz or higher gaming monitor 120/144hz really changes the way FPS games feel and can actually give you an advantage in a game like tribes. That being said itís not needed and most current players donít even have that kind of monitor, I managed to be one of the top duelers with 60hz and 220+ ping so you should be fine even without it. Here are some links that can help you in that regard: Get a Mic/Headset:Most of us have mics/headsets and its a huge part of the fun not only for hearing drunken Two Moons talking about his worms but also for the competitive aspect and crazy teamwork you can accomplish with them. Look below for decent to cheapskate headsets/micsDecent tier: $40 Logitech 230 headset or aboveCheapskate tier: $8 Audio Technica ATR4650Freeish: Use your mobile phone the voice quality is actually greater then most headsetsWhy canít I hit shit? Why do I suck now?Too much to say to this so for now just look through these links and see if you still suck, if you do come check me on discord, weíll jump in a server and fix that.Tribes Aiming Stuff:
Storks Base LT Guide:
Vamps tips from Ren LT to Base LT:#1 Awareness, we were spoiled with Happymod/flag, in base LT awareness is your greatest ally, learning capper routes not to cap but to know when and where cappers will come from as D, assume a capper is always there ready to llama grab your shit or zooming in from a route. #2 Timing, its very essential for high level play, since base lt is slower and there is no happy mod, timing is everything. When to return, when to cut off a capper, how many seconds it will take to run the route and follow up with clearer, when to pass, when to throw, when to spawn, when to spam, when to make a call, when to e-grab etc. #3 Binds/Scripts, Weak toss grenades (you need this for nade+disc boosting and flag stand D), flag carrier cmd view (you need this to know exactly where your teammate flag carrier is), you also need to learn how to beacon stop properly.#4 Take out your CG more often, I know we all loved 100+ meter MAís in TROC but those are a lot less likely in base LT. (I struggle with this the most) #5 Relearn skiing, seriously base LT will show you what real tribes skiing is like, learning routes and how to ski properly greatly improves chasing ability and your general speed.  #6 Watch these dudes play they are some of the top base LT players to ever play the game.If capping is your thing observe Opsayo (hyung) and Clown when you get the chance.gl hf
