Hey Arc.. a buddy of mine is getting this error and I don't know how to help him:
says local data is not compatible with server dat when he tries to join a server
what would that mean?
he's not very computer savvy so it's probably something obvious, but he can't explain it to me
he's on a 64bit laptop, good graphics card.. he bought the game, installed it, and I even remotely installed the mod for him.. still won't work

The error is caused by having files that are not exactly the same as the server. There are really two scenarios here:
1. The server you are trying to connect has different mod files from the original game. There are a couple testing servers, and perhaps a few other servers that might not have the same version as the original v1.0
2. The files that your friend has are either modified, or are somehow corrupt. Make sure that the files in his twars folder aren't edited in anyway as this would cause that error. It's also somewhat possible that the package files aren't any good either, and you may as well download a new install package in that case.
Lastly just make sure he has the v1.5 patch. It might cause that error, but I'm not entirely sure. Most likely it's one of the two things I mentioned above.
