Yeah, Chango's was a blast. I got to be pretty good in there once I figured out the arrow trick in the console to retype the last thing you typed. Or hit the arrow twice for the second-to-last thing, etc. Doing that, you could spawn in Merc, use your boosters, and then change into Cyborg in mid-air. Or you could switch to Burster and toss a whole bunch of Suicide DetPacks because there wasn't a 25-second wait between throws like there is at SKB running Ren 10.0.
There was one map (Dropzone 3, maybe?) that had two bases way up in the air connected by a long bridge. Above each base were three platforms. I'd get up on the platforms in Alien armor and use a Shockwave Cannon to blow enemy players off their base (causing them to suicide or die when they hit the ground).
It was funny because a lot of newbs came to that server and I think sometimes they couldn't tell why they were getting blown off the base. The Shockwave Cannon doesn't hurt like a Rocket Launcher and, having unlimited beacons at Chango's, I was able to stay cloaked all the time. This might have been before Happy Mod, too.
I think I played Chango's exclusively for maybe a year or so - however long it was up. When Chango's went down for the last time I went back to playing regular Renegades and remember when I got back to playing "SKB Renegades too" I was really bad. My skills had deteriorated since I was used to cheating and new techniques had developed in my absence - turret stacking, spawn-shielded rocket jumping, etc. - and the level of player skill was much higher than I was used to.
Speaking of spawn shields, Chango didn't have them. No spawn shield + unlimited mines = fun, once you learned the spawn points.
So who will admit to being "Willo" at Chango's? He was always my nemesis there. He was even better at cheating than I was, and I was fairly decent at it.

Aha! So that's how some guys had rapid-fire mortars, rockets, and I remember getting pissed off at guys with rapid-fire laser rifles. With unlimited energy, a rapid-fire laser rifle is a very lethal weapon.

Someone should put up the IDC duel server again. Those giant duel battles + random challenges were great. I used to duel Air, Newbie, Soda and Oreo for hours on there.
